Someone (I think it was Warped on OG?) said that it's hard to find things on my site. (I agree!) So I've tidied up the tags (they help with navigation - click, for eg, last of the time lords, and you'll get all related entries).

And I've tracked down all the stuff I've done so far and grouped them all together in this post. :D

Transcripts:

The Doctor's Theme/The Doctor Forever (DS)
From the last scene of The Runaway Bride.

After the Chase
From The Runaway Bride. It's also on the series 3 soundtrack.

Martha's Theme (DS)
From the last scene of Smith and Jones. Also on the series 3 soundtrack.

Martha's Theme/The Doctor Forever
(DS)
From Gridlock, where Martha asks the Doctor if she can see his planet.

Southwark Cathedral --- and DS
From The Lazarus Experiment, where the Doctor, Martha and Tish follow Lazarus into the Cathedral.

The Doctor Forever

From The Family of Blood - "He's like fire, and ice, and rage..." etc.

Excerpt from Martha's Quest
From the Sol 3 stuff in Last of the Time Lords.

Music ripped from episodes:

All the Strange, Strange Creatures/The Doctor Forever/Boe
Ripped from the Mill's FX trailer and Dobby!Doctor's dialogue taken out. All the music's from Gridlock.

Excerpt from This is Gallifrey

Ripped from Last of the Time Lords, from where the Master dies to the funeral pyre. Took out the Doctor's giant "NO!" :D

[info]platinumsnowcat does much better rips, btw.

DS = Danny Stewart's version, where he turns my MIDI instruments into more real-sounding ones.

Taking requests now! Anything you like, but if it's from Classic Who, you'll have to give me the audio clip. Anyway, tell me the episode which the music is from, and if you can, the times as well, eg 32:34 to 34:21. I'll try not to take too long doing them either, but if it's hard...

(Click 'Post a new comment' to tell me what you want. And if you want to see what else I've done...)

And also...! So much for doing the series 3 action cue (as some people call it now) or anything towards the end of Gridlock! Because....! *is super-duper excited*

Or, easier, click this: http://www.beam.tv/beamreels/reel_player.php?xNYQmjNKHd&resize=1 And enjoy!!

*has calmed down somewhat*
I've ripped the audio from that video: here.
It's mostly clean, which is awesome, except for that part where the Doctor speaks. (Why did they put that in!) But I've also done a very quick bit of a reconstruction of that part! It's obviously not very good - I'm really no expert at these things but it'll suffice, I hope. Cleaner version.

Just wanted to say that I'm about to get very busy again, so essentially, you won't be hearing from me until November. By then the series 3 soundtrack should be out, or almost out. Can't wait!

I have a few incomplete transcripts on my computer, namely those three things listed two posts down (the one dated on 19 August). I also have a very rough outline of the music played when you see the interior of the Globe Theatre for the first time. If you'd like to complete any of them for me, post a comment, and I'll give you a MIDI of it. Or a sibelius file, if you happen to have that Sibelius program.

Anyhow, see you later everyone! (If anyone even goes to this site, that is. ^^)

This isn't a transcript. It's just taken straight from the episode, and reconstructed - it's that scene where [highlight to read, because it's a spoilerthe Master dies and gets his little funeral. Anyway, I love the music there. I've just taken out the dialogue (if it can be called that) by using the same music heard in the previous episode, but unfortunately they had water running in the background over the music, so it honestly sounds like a shower for a few seconds. I haven't taken out the breathing sounds either, so... Okay, in other words, it's quite poor quality, but excellent if you want to hear it again and again! :D

Click to listen to my dodgy covering up of the 'dialogue'!

I'm no expert at this sort of thing, so if you'd like to have another go at cleaning up the non-music sounds...well, give me a link to your mp3 when you do!

Yep, the music from The Runaway Bride - when Donna and the Doctor are on that rooftop after the chase sequence.

Here. (Still no chimes, sorry!)

In progress:
- the waltz from Human Nature (if someone could list the instruments used, that'd be a great help!)
- the BBCi trailer music - if you'd like to help, tell me!
- the car jumping sequence in Gridlock

EDIT 25/11/07: Now known as After the Chase, according to the soundtrack.

Have you heard? New DW soundtrack comes out in November! *dances* :D:D

Hello to anyone out there who happens to stumble across this rather bland website! (Don't argue with me on that!)

Anyway, I've got a few questions:

1. What's the instrument that plays the waltz in Human Nature?

2. What's the instrument that plays the tune first at the start of the BBCi trailer? You know, that music that also played during the trailer at the end of episode 6, and during Gridlock and Utopia and a million other times, I bet. :D

3. What's the drum that Murray Gold loves using? Eg the drum in the trailer music, and/or the drum in the car-jumping sequence in Gridlock.

4. Does anyone have a real recording of a wind chime? I think that's what it's called. It's like one of those outdoor windchimes, but the metal columns getting progressively shorter and they're all hung from a rod. Well, I need it for the 2006 xmas special - the part where Donna and the Doctor are on the rooftop after the taxi chase sequence and he gives her his coat.

And, to people who know how LJ works (I don't, yet!)

5. What are tags?

6. Is there a DW music community out there?

7. If there isn't, will someone ever create one? Not that I'm forcing anyone to - it's just that I don't know how to, and even if I did I don't think I have time to make sure it doesn't fall into shambles a week later.

So yes, if anyone has a real chime sound that sounds like the one described before, I'll get the TRB rooftop music up very quickly.

Wow, seven questions! ^^;; Thanks for reading this far!

Here is the music from when the Doctor, Martha and Tish enter the cathedral when looking for Lazarus. (I think this is one of the better ones.) :D

Feedback/comments appreciated!

1. The Doctor's Theme - the new one used throughout series 3, transcribed from the final scenes of The Runaway Bride and mp3-ised by Danny Stewart - thank you! (I may fix the dynamics for this one...someday.)

2. Martha's Theme - transcribed from the end of Smith and Jones, mp3-ised by Danny Stewart again.

3. The music from Gridlock where the Doctor describes Gallifrey the first time, and yes, mp3-ised again, same as the above. :D

The mp3 versions are transformed from MIDI files by using one of those orchestral samples. I'm quite vague on this. But hey, they sound fairly real! And when you don't have clean versions of the soundtrack, one tends to get desperate. Hence the transcriptions.

NB that I don't own Doctor Who. (Obviously.) And, I'm not making any profit from this. If the BBC doesn't like these transcripts for one reason or another, I'll get rid of them.

More to come soon! And comments will be much appreciated. :D

(Erm, how do you cross-post? And where to?)

So on a Plus account, you get ads. On a basic one, you don’t. That’s just…strange.

I stole a layout and modified it a bit. (If you want to be credited, tell me how to do it.) And each time I post an entry it’s going to look hilarious. The same icon again and again. I should change it, but…nah. If you haven’t guessed already, I’m the same wyldcat on Outpost Gallifrey (see, same icon?) and I would’ve had my username as ‘wyldcat’ but someone’s already taken it. How does wyldcatt work as a second choice? Mind you, there’ll probably be some confusion with the link sooner or later.

Anyway, once I figure out the secret behind cuts, where/how to upload files and whatnot, I’ll get to the real reason I decided to make an LJ. (Yes, I made one because the maintenance of it is much lower than having a separate website that you create from scratch, and plus, it’s easy to leave comments on LJ. :D)

Um, yes. Real reason = Doctor Who music transcripts (and maybe I will eventually branch out). They will come sporadically. Don’t wait for them. Comments (eg any improvements to the mp3s, like wrong notes, instruments, rhythm etc) will be very much appreciated though!
